Many connoisseurs of black teas occasionally enjoy a hot cup of freshly brewed East Frisian tea. East Frisian blends are characterized by their strong character and powerful taste. They are mostly blended from Indian Assam varieties, which are known for their tart and spicy taste.
This East Frisian blend also consists of several black teas from India. Only the tender buds are used for this - an indication of exquisite tea quality. The result is a strong and stiff tea, which is perfectly suited for the common East Frisian tea art, consisting of candy cubes and cream. The so-called Kluntje are placed in the cup first and the hot tea is poured over them without stirring. Now a dash of cream is added. In this way, the tea tastes different with every sip, depending on which ingredient is predominant at the time.
