Preparation: 5 teaspoons (12-15g) per 1 L (34 fl oz) of water, temperature: 100 °C (212 °F), brewing time: 4-5 minutes.

The East Frisians are known for their strong, malty tea blends. They like to drink these with cream and rock candy, the so-called Wulkjes and Kluntjes. If you would like to try this traditional preparation, this tea is highly recommended.

Strong, spicy black teas from India and Sumatra are combined here into a superior malty flavor blend. For the East Frisian preparation, place a few Kluntje in the cup, pour over the freshly brewed tea, and then pour in a sip of cream. It should be noted here that you should not stir. In this way, the tea tastes different with each sip, as sometimes the cream portion, sometimes the black tea itself, and sometimes the sugar flavor predominates.
