Chamomile tea has always been a well-known household remedy. Chamomile comes from the same genus as the tea plant Camellia Sinensis. Just like the tea plant, chamomile was discovered in Asia. However, it is now naturally occurring in Europe, America and Australia. Chamomile was named medicinal plant of the year in 2002 because it is known for its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. A cup of freshly brewed chamomile tea immediately exudes soothing essential oils, which are also popular for steam baths for colds. In addition, chamomile tea, along with fennel-anise-caraway, is the home remedy of choice for flatulence, bloating or gastrointestinal discomfort.
Our certified organic chamomile flowers come from Germany. German chamomile has by far the highest content of essential oils. This benefits you and the environment because our chamomile doesn't have to travel halfway around the world.
