The first thought of nettles is mostly devoted to the literal burning, which is caused by careless handling. However, if you refrain from this and know how to handle the herb with gloves and long clothes, you will quickly realize how beneficial it can be for your health. Fresh nettles have many minerals such as iron, calcium and potassium, as well as a lot of vitamin C and K. They are also rich in flavonoids, which have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, diuretic and antibacterial effects on the body.
Fresh nettle tea has a taste reminiscent of a mixture of spinach and nut. It is light and mild and feels soft on the tongue and palate. If you like, you can add a squeeze of lemon for variety or try one of our many herbal tea blends with nettle as an ingredient. Our nettle tea comes from controlled organic cultivation.
